HOW IT'S WORK
- Drop off any time during shop hours: Mon–Tue: Closed, Wed-Sat: 11am–6pm, Sun: 11am–4pm.
- Tell us when you need it back. Heading out Friday for a weekend trip? Tell us at drop-off and we'll prioritize.
- We call when it's ready. Come pick up during shop hours.
When should I tune?
- Mid-season if your skis feel slow, edges feel dull on icy days, or the bases look chalky white instead of black.
- Before any trip longer than a day. A fresh wax is the cheapest performance upgrade you'll ever buy.
- End of season, before storage. A hot wax sealed onto the bases keeps the skis from drying out over the summer.
WHAT'S included
- Base repair / P-tex fill for core shots and gouges pricing depends on damage. Bring it in and we'll quote you.
- Binding mount + DIN setting with certified DIN test. We can mount bindings on skis purchased elsewhere.
- Boot fitting that's its own page. (Custom boot fitting → /boot-fitting)
FAQ
How often should I tune my skis?
For most weekend skiers in Connecticut, once or twice a season plus a fresh wax before any trip. If you ski 20+ days, plan on a tune every 6–8 days of use.
Can you mount bindings on skis I bought somewhere else?
Yes. Bring the skis and the bindings we’ll mount, set DIN, and test.
What's the difference between Basic, Advanced, and Pro?
Basic gets your edges sharp and your bases waxed fine for most recreational skiers. Advanced adds a stoneground base, which restores a flat, fast surface. Pro adds beveled edges for high-performance carving and racing.
Can you fix a core shot?
Most of the time, yes. P-tex fill plus a stoneground base brings them back. Bring it in for an honest assessment sometimes the answer is “this still skis fine, save your money.”
Do you tune snowboards differently?
Same edge work and wax process. Stoneground base on snowboards is an add-on ($10).
