Our Story

Family-Owned Since 1950

Rotary Ski & Sports has grown from a local sporting goods store into one of Connecticut’s premier specialty ski and snowboard shops built on generations of expertise, trusted service, and a passion for the mountains.

Three generations, one shop

Family owned and operated for over seventy-five years, Rotary started in 1950 as a full-service sporting goods store before evolving into the specialty ski and snowboard shop you know today. The “and Sports” in our name is a nod to where we came from and where we’re headed.

Rotary is the quintessential family-owned business. My father, Joe, started it in 1950 and led us into the future. His motto?

"Your customer always has a choice where to do business. You just need to make them choose you."

That’s still how we run the place. It’s our mission to give you the best prices and the best service we possibly can and to treat you like part of the family while we do it

From the entire team here at Rotary, thanks for choosing us to help you get out and play.
— Mark Quiriconi Owner, Rotary Ski and Sports

Why Rotary still matters in 2026

Big-box stores opened. The internet happened. Most of the family ski shops we grew up next to are gone. We’re still here for the same reason Joe started it: people want honest help from someone who actually skis.

Our team isn’t paid on commission. If the boots you bought from us five years ago are still working, we’ll tell you. If your kid is going to grow out of those skis in one season, we’ll point you to the lease program. If you’ve never skied before and you’re nervous, we’ll take all the time you need.

That's the deal. It's been the deal for 75 years.
